Kerry was born in Libertyville, Illinois on October 7, 1958 and married his high school sweetheart, Cathy, on October 30, 1981 and they raised 2 children together. They remained married until December 18, 2015 when she lost her battle with cancer.
Kerry served in the army for almost a decade as a mechanic. After enlistment, he followed his passion for IT and became a Systems Administrator while working as a contractor for various military bases.
Kerry had a fascination with technology, there wasn't a computer issue that he couldn't figure out. He built all of his own computers and enjoyed playing strategy games in his spare time. He was most passionate about dogs and helping dogs get adopted. Surely, his Border Collie, passed in September but was a tremendous comfort and friend throughout the last 12 years of his life.
He had a fun and unique sense of humor. He enjoyed playing harmless pranks on his family to get a smile out of them. Kerry was also a very kind man and would take initiative to help out a friend, neighbor, and stranger in need- never expecting or wanting anything in return.
Kerry is survived by his children, Melissa (Sean Lewis) Darling-Morrison of Las Vegas, Nevada and Sam (Elissa) Darling-Morrison of DeWitt, Michigan; his mother, Madelyn (Jack) Bauman of Alabaster, Alabama; and many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kerry is predeceased by his loving wife, Cathy Darling. His father, Ken Morrison and his sister, Kelly Morrison. An intimate family service is going to be held as a celebration of Kerry's life.
A special thank you to Robinwood Landing of Lansing, Michigan and Hospice of Lansing. The genuine love and care provided by all staff members to Kerry in his last months and moments of life is unmatched and will never be forgotten.
