JoAnn, known for her loving and friendly nature, was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never met a stranger and made friends with everyone she encountered. JoAnn was a devoted individual who lived her life with faith and kindness.
After a fulfilling career spanning over 35 years, JoAnn retired from Michigan State University, where she worked in dining services. Outside of work, she enjoyed various hobbies such as baking for her family, friends, and neighbors, tending to her garden, fishing, crocheting, bird watching and volunteering at McLaren Hospital. She was a dedicated member of her church and had a deep love for flowers and MSU Spartan sports.
JoAnn is survived by her children Joseph A. Vanwelsenaers (Gayle), Lisa M. Vanwelsenaers, Marc A. Vanwelsenaers (Lynn), and Anne C. Cunningham (Jeffrey). She is also survived by her grandchildren Brianna Cunningham, Kylie McCallum (J.D.), Todd Vanwelsenaers (Jordan), Andrew Vanwelsenaers, Carmen Vanwelsenaers, and Alexandra Vanwelsenaers, her great-granddaughter Blayke McCallum, sister-in-law, Lenora Minnick and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Catherine Minnick, brothers Ronald and Dennis Minnick and sister Kimberlee Minnick.
JoAnn Kaye (Vanwelsenaers) Ferrigan will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
