James LeClair, born September 15, 1948 to Everett and Mary (Brinkley) LeClair, went into Jesus’ arms on May 31, 2014. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1967 and was drafted into the US Army April 10, 1968. He served 10 years of active duty and 12 years with the National Guard in Grand Ledge, MI, retiring in 2000. He loved his family and was the best husband. He and Paula (Fuller) were married June 18, 1969 and Paula was proud and honored to be his wife for 44 years. Jim was very active in the community and was a member of American Legion Post 460 for 5 years, of the Grand Ledge Masonic Lodge 179 for 11 years, and a past member of the East Lansing Masonic Lodge 480. He volunteered and felt very close to the American Cancer Society for 3 years (Relay for Life of East Lansing); Area 8 Special Olympics for 12 years; and Special Olympics in El Paso, TX for 16 years. He loved to participate in parades to honor vets; went yearly to the Veteran Home in Brighton, MI to brighten the lives of many veterans. He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughter, Kimberley; son, Kenith; sister, Juel (Dennis) Schroeder; many brothers-and- sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and numerous friends, including his Masonic brothers. He touched many lives and will be missed by all who loved him. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at Calvary Baptist Church, 14769 Wood Road in Lansing. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington in DeWitt. Interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to Area 8 Special Olympics, 2901 Wabash Rd., Lansing, MI 48910; American Cancer Society, 1755 Abbey Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823; or to the family to help with funeral expenses in memory of James LeClair.
