James “Jim” Anthony Vermeersch, 56, of DeWitt Michigan passed away July 14, 2015. He was born August 15, 1958 in Lansing Michigan to Leon George and Janice Lee (Irish) Vermeersch. Jim married the love of his life, Linda Kay Eisler in June of 1982. He always said his proudest family moments were the births of their boys, Derek and Devin, along with their college graduations. Jim enjoyed basketball, baseball, golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, along with playing sports with his boys. Jim worked as an Electrician for over 26 years. He is preceded in death by grandparents: Ward and Adeline Irish; Uncle Steve and (Sue) Irish; and cousin, Bonnie Eisler. Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents; Leon and Janice; wife, Linda; sons, Derek and Devin; siblings, Jerry, Jeff, Joe, Lynda (Anthony) Randazzo, Leslie (Craig) Howard; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St, DeWitt, with Rev. Robert Irish officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a scripture service at the church at 7:30 pm by Rev. Robert Irish and Terry Humonik. The family will also receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Community of St. Jude, The American Cancer Society, The Brain Tumor Society, or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
