Beloved mother of John C. Cortis (Diane) and Richard A. Cortis (Charlotte). Betty is survived by her grandchildren Matthew (Nikki), Alexander, and Abigail.
Betty is preceded in death by her three sisters, Pat Lema, Frances Mayhew, and Marie Muha; and her brothers, Charles, Jim, Robert, and Arthur Garbarino.
She was past president of the Monguagon Chapter of Embrioderer's Guild of America, past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Ford Yacht Club (Grosse Ile, MI), and past president of the Tree Lakes Resort Activities (Palmetto, FL).
Betty was laid to rest at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan, next to her husband, Henry C. Cortis.
A Mention Mass in Honor of Betty will be held October 22, 2022 at 9:00 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 20811 Washington St., Onaway, MIchigan 49765 with a Brunch to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church in Betty's memory.
