Dana was born August 3, 1951 in Lansing to Robert and Phyllis Droscha. The eldest sibling to three brothers James, Brian, and Keith - she spent her younger years in Mason, Michigan before the family moved to Charlotte, where she would become a graduate of Charlotte High School in 1969 and later, Lansing Community College in 1975.
In that same year on December 13, 1975 she married her lifelong companion Lynn Green. The two loved to travel, visiting all 50 states and many places abroad, a love they would share with their two sons, David and Dustin.
A resident of DeWitt, Michigan for the last 48 years - Dana was a beloved member of her community, workplace, and church. She was celebrated and honored after being an employee of 43 years at Lansing Community College, helping countless young students both home and abroad achieve their aspirations of higher education. She was a longtime member of Redeemer United Methodist Church in DeWitt. She loved music, participating for many years in the church vocal choir and bell choir. She also sang in the local Riverside Singers, Reflections and a barbershop quartet. These groups sang at innumerable Lansing area events and nursing homes. She was also a Sunday School teacher for several decades, as well as running a childcare business out of her own home for several years.
Dana was also an avid greenthumb along with her husband, decorating their home with a plentiful vibrance of flowers and knicknacks. Among them was a well known favorite, her collection of all things cow and farm related, and a meticulously designed miniature scale city of Snow Village figurines. She loved to craft and sew, whether it was fixing a torn pair of her sons pants or creating an entire dress for her granddaughters.
Her love and care for not just her own children, but of so many others, was unmatched. She was perhaps best known for her service and hospitality towards all that met her, often preparing or helping to facilitate the preparation of many local events, family reunions and holidays, weddings, funerals, and countless others. She loved to cook, catering many of the same events, and always making sure there was always enough food for second, or even third helpings. She was President of the Droscha-McCabe reunion for 48 years sending an annual family newsletter all over the country to extended family.
She will be especially remembered most by her love and compassion for others and ability to bring folks of all walks of life together.
Dana is survived by her husband Lynn; sons, David(Chelsea) and Dustin; grandchildren, Montana, Hunter, and Morgan, and brothers, James (Denise), Brian (Lori), and Keith (Denise). She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Frederick Droscha and Phyllis Adele Droscha.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday April 7, 2025 at Redeemer United Methodist Church in DeWitt, Michigan. Visitation will be held at 9 AM, followed by funeral services at 11 AM. A luncheon will be held after. Interment will follow at DeWitt City Cemetery.
