Mee Young Kim

하나님의 사랑하는 딸 김미영 성도님께서 2022년10월 13일 (목요일) 향년 59세로 하나님의 부르심을 받으셨습니다.

Born on April 30, 1963 to Sang Yong Lee and Dong Eui Kim, Mee Young grew up as a loving and kind middle child of three. She was a natural teacher all her life. She followed that passion all the way through university where she earned a degree in teaching. Even after she immigrated to the U.S., she continued to teach Sunday school and Korean school whenever she had time.

Mee Young was a beloved member of the Galilee Korean United Methodist Church family. Her boisterous laughter filled the church every Sunday. She loved tending to plants she had rescued, testing out new recipes she discovered online, talking to her sister and her parents daily, and meditating on Scripture.

Above all else, Mee Young cherished being a mother and dedicated her life to creating a wonderful childhood for her daughter, full of love, creativity, books, and laughter. The two of them shared a bond that was unbreakable. She is survived by her daughter, Jane.

A visitation for Mee will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016, followed by a memorial service from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
