Mary Schumacher nee Knizse of Des Plaines; beloved wife of the late Ewald Schumacher; loving mother of Linda (Richard) Plegge, William (Donna) Schumacher and Robert (Laura) Schumacher; loving step-mother of Carl (Barbara) Schumacher; cherished Nana of Thomas and Sara Schumacher and Matthew Plegge. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 27, 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Rd., Palatine, IL. Interment private. Mary was born in Western Springs on April 2, 1921, and passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 in Des Plaines, where she called home for 61 years. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Heartland Animal Shelter in Northbrook, IL., appreciated.
