Martha “Marty” Louise Marie Shipp (nee Goldenbogen), was born at home in Romeo, Michigan on April 13, 1923 to Fredrick and Elsbeth (nee Blohm) Goldenbogen, and passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016. Marty was married to William “Bill” F. Shipp for nearly 65 years. Marty was the loving mother of Gwen (Ron) Chandler in East Peoria, IL, Glenn (Cathy) Shipp in Northbrook, IL and Judy Shipp in Athens, IL; cherished grandmother of Megan Shipp in Evanston, IL and Peter Shipp in Northbrook, IL. Marty served as a nurse in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII and was discharged as a registered nurse. Marty was also a member of Christ Church in Des Plaines, IL for 59 years. Visitation will be held on August 31, 2016 from 4-8PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Hwy./ Rt. 14 at Rand Rd.), Des Plaines, IL 60016. Funeral Service will also be held at Oehler Funeral Home on September 1, 2016 at 11:00AM, interment will be private at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
