Visitation for Kenneth E. Swanson, 82, of Des Plaines since 1967, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, February 22, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. Services 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at the funeral home, with Fr. Larry Collins officiating. Interment private. Born Jan. 20, 1931, in Chicago, he passed away February 15, 2013, in Des Plaines. By trade he was carpenter for 25 years with Schorsch Home Builders, Chicago. Surviving are his wife, Nancy M. (nee Maleski); children, Joanne M. Swanson, Diane L. (David) Mellring, Marianne S. (Randal) Cartwright, Kenneth S. (Marianne), Robert E. Swanson and Michael B. Swanson; and four grandchildren, Megan and Erin Mellring, and Clarice and Zachary Swanson.
