Joseph R. Hess of Des Plaines Joseph R. Hess, 69, was the loving husband of Mary Lou (nee Wolter) Hess; caring Father of Rick (Jessica) and Mark (Susan) Hess, Dawn (Bill) Freivald and Beth Lynn (Scott) Norton; dear brother of Mike (Arlene) Hess; and fond grandfather of McKenna, Raquel, Colton, Kylie, Haley, Connor, Tyler and Trevor. Joseph worked as a Oldsmobile mechanic for over 30 years in Mount Prospect. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (corner of Northwest Highway/Route14 and Rand Road), Des Plaines. He will lie in state Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 855 Lee st., Des Plaines. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
