Jean P. Gargano

Jean Pauline Gargano, 91, of Mount Prospect, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Born in Chicago in 1933, Jean was known for her honesty, hard work, steadfastness, and determination. She raised four children on her own while maintaining a vibrant, enduring marriage of 72 years to her beloved husband, Michael Gargano.

Jean dedicated over 40 years to her career as an Avon line coordinator, where her commitment to punctuality and excellence made her a cherished figure in her community. In her leisure, she found joy in bowling, bingo, and immersing herself in mystery and romance novels.

Jean is survived by her husband, Michael Gargano, and their children: Annette Gargano; Michelle Pennacchio (Fiore); Michael Gargano; and Frank Gargano (Kim). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Frankie Kos; Tory Pennacchio; Angelo Pennacchio (Megan); Nicolle Deacon (Adam); Gino Pennacchio (Celina); Karli McDonald (Patrick); Jenna Mercer (David); Frank Gargano (Allison); and Jaimie Trusty (Ehl). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Zachary; Trafton; Jacob; Teagan; Rocco; Gianna; Olive; Aubrielle; Adrianna; Rory; Brogan; Grady; Lucille; Lillian; Jack; and Lucia.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL. A funeral service will follow on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
