Barbara “Bobbie” A. Porcaro our beloved mother was born May 30, 1934 and passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was 88 years young. Bobbie was a resident of Des Plaines for 64 years. She is survived by her two children, Dennis (Judi) Porcaro and Jeri (Al) DiBrito; cherished Nonna to Gina (Matt) Estkowski, Angela (Alex) Allen, and Nicole (Cody) Railsback; proud Nonna G to Tyler, Dominic, Blake, Beau, Nico, George, and number 7 arriving soon; dear sister in law to Dorothy Porcaro; fond aunt to Arlene Barker and Jerry Porcaro. She was proceeded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Frank. Her parents Jerry and Pat Luster and in-laws Frank and Florence Porcaro.
Bobbie attended Providence High School, after high school she went to Quincy College for a year, then to cosmetology school. She worked part-time as a beautician and part-time as a waitress, as well as working at General Telephone Electric. During all this she was a wonderful wife and mother. Her family was her everything. When her three granddaughters were born, she was always there to help. Then she became a Nonna G (great-grandma) to 6 great-grandsons. Bobbie would say she was truly blessed. The love of her life was Frank. They were inseparable since she was 15. They are now together forever. Bobbie will be missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to say thank you to the Carmelita Sisters for their everlasting love for our mom. Bobbie was devoted to her faith and the sisters were a constant part of her life.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. Des Plaines, IL 60016. The funeral mass will be Friday, April 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Carmelite Monastery, 949 N. River Rd. Des Plaines, IL 60016. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery.
