Agnes “Angie” Waymel of Des Plaines, IL was born on January 21, 1931 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Angie was the beloved wife of deceased husband Robert R. Waymel; loving mother of Sue Staebler, Robert Waymel, Wayne Waymel, Ellie (Wayne) Guzman; cherished grandmother of Kristi (Ben) Kowalski, Jim Staebler, Gary Staebler, Robert (Stephanie) Waymel, Tim Waymel, Stephen Guzman, Theresa (Jordan) Wackerlin, and Nicholas Guzman; Great-Grandmother to ten great-grandchildren; dear daughter of the late Ann Mathisen; loving granddaughter to the late Joseph and Susanna Mathis; dear sister of the late John (Doris) Mathis, the late Hank (Dorothy) Mathis, the late Helen (Tom) Lorence, Carl (Carole) Mathisen, and Jeanne (Joe) Michalak and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Angie was a devoted parishioner of St. Stephen Catholic Church for 60 years. She enjoyed being a very active member, volunteering her time to both the school and church. Angie's home was a place where family, friends and neighborhood kids always felt welcome. Angie also was an avid gardener and loved time outdoors. She also loved the Chicago Cubs.
A visitation for Agnes will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016. A funeral mass will occur Monday, March 13, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1280 Prospect Avenue, Des Plaines, IL 60018. A committal service will occur Monday, March 13, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at All Saints Cemetery Chapel, 700 N. River Rd.,, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
