Clay McDaniel, 76, of Pitkin, Louisiana entered eternal peace on April 13th, 2014 in Pitkin, Louisiana. Clay was born on April 25th, 1937 in Elizabeth, Louisiana to the union of William and Mattie Johnson McDaniel. He was a lifelong resident of the Pitkin area where he was a farmer and truck owner operator for 46 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents ; four sisters, Mildred Willis, Zady Perkins, Beatrice Doyle, and Audie Doyle; one brother, Curtis McDaniel and one son, Antony Alan “Tony Mac” McDaniel. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Marlene Moore McDaniel of Pitkin, LA; two sons, Harvey McDaniel and wife Shannon of Deville, LA and Kenneth Moore and wife Debbie of Pitkin, LA; one daughter Lynne Waite and husband “T-Boy” of Sulphur, LA; six grandchildren, Bill Moore and wife Birgit of Pitkin, LA, Brandon Moore and wife Amanda of Pineville, LA, Erin McDaniel Perkins and husband Shane of Plainview, LA, Clay McDaniel of Deville, LA, and Brittney and Mattie Waite of Sulphur, LA; six great grandchildren, William Moore, Christian Peter Marquardt, Paisley Moore, Hadley Moore, Gavin Perkins and Ashlyn Perkins; three sisters, Rose Willis of Oakdale, LA, Pearl Mancil and husband Robert of Houston, TX, and Katherine Torres and husband Leo of Dry Creek, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thanks to HCOA of Alexandria, LA and Dr. Vincent Mallory.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Moore, Harvey McDaniel, T-Boy Waite, Randall Calcote, Walt Johnson, and Charnel Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are Clay McDaniel, Cortlan Calcote, Hayden Calcote, Kenneth Moore, and Bill Moore.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 15th, 2014 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pitkin, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Brad Perkins and Brother Jeff James officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Branch Cemetery in Pitkin, Louisiana. Service under the guidance of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder, Louisiana.
