Kevin Eugene Johnson

Graveside services for Kevin Eugene Johnson, 49, will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields, La. Rev. Jerry Gilland will officiate under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy.

Kevin worked as a pipefitter for over twenty-five years. He spent many years as a supervisor, and the last several years working in plan management. He was an avid fisherman, loved hunting and cooking. He often cooked for his crew at work. Kevin was loved by everyone he met and will be missed greatly.

Survivors include a daughter, Skylar Purcel of Ada, OK; mother, Brenda Hyatt Eckel and husband, Rich of Iuka, IL; a sister, Cindy Johnson Jones of Flora, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Eugene “Gene” Johnson, a brother, Barry Jones and wife, Jill, maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Willie Hyatt, and paternal grandparents, Horace and Lena Johnson.
