DeQuincy - John C. "Bo" Brown, 64, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 in a local hospital.
Born in DeQuincy, he lived here most all of his life. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad and then worked for the DeQuincy Police Department as a Dispatcher. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he sang with the choir and was also a Deacon. Bo served as a Volunteer Fireman and also worked in the community with the Dare Program and also various childrens organizations. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Iris W. Brown of DeQuincy; sons, John Brown, Jr. of Merryville and Joshua Brown of Sulphur; daughters, Anya Fokeer of Houston, Tx., Summer Skinner of DeQuincy and Cheyanne Brown of Clovis, New Mexico; sister in law, Betty Jo Brown of DeQuincy; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph P. Brown and brother N.J. Brown.
Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. Monday June 10, 2013 in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rob Walls officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 1:00 until 9:00p.m. at Hixson Snider Funeral Home and resume on Monday from 1:00p.m. until time of service.
