DeQuincy- Jack A. Nelson, 72, passed away, Saturday, February 16, 2013, in his residence. He was born September 27, 1940 in McNary, Arizona but was a lifelong resident of Singer, LA. He retired from PPG after 28 years of service. His life revolved around his family, friends, and his best friend and four-legged companion “Jake”. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Bonnie Jo Nelson of Singer; daughter, Natalie Jo Nelson Duplechin and husband, Wayne of DeQuincy; son, Howard Nelson and wife, Richelle of DeQuincy; he had seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great grandchildren on the way; sister, Beth Parker of DeQuincy; brother, Earl Baker and wife, Jeanie of Texas; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Nettie Nelson and son, Craig Nelson.
His wishes were to be cremated, therefore a memorial service will be held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Tuesday, February 19th at 7:00pm with visitation from 4pm-9pm.
