DeQuincy - Gary Lynn Alston, 69, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at his residence after a long illness.
Mr. Alston was a native and lifelong resident of DeQuincy. He received his GED while in the Air Force where he was a veteran from 1962-1966. He retired after 15 years with Southwest Beverage in 2005.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Barbara Alston; son Gary Langtre Alston; daughters, Stacia Lynn Henry, Susan Marie Hand, Donna Marie Mosca and Theresa Ann Maricle; brother Dennis Alston; sisters, Loisann Alston, Shelbia Welton and Shirley White; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Alston Cemetery off Camp Edgewood Road. Visitation will be on Tuesday March 26, from 3:00pm til 9:00pm and resume on Wednesday from 10:00am until service time.
