Mrs. VanWinkle enjoyed traveling and square dancing. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. As for her family, she made the best banana pudding and pecan pies.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Don VanWinkle and her daughter, Patricia Sonnier, and one sister, Eva Rae McQueen; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald VanWinkle, her parents, James and Annie Barrow, a brother, James Barrow and a sister, Ruth White.
Her funeral service will be at 10am, Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy, LA. The Rev. Eddie Hoosier will officiate. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy, LA. Visitation will be Friday, August 3, 2012 from 4pm until 9pm at the funeral home and will resume again at 8am until time of service.
