Donald Eugene Mericle Jr.

Donald Eugene Mericle Jr, 71, of DeQuincy, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born to his late parents, Donald Sr. and Bobbie Mericle on January 5, 1954 in Westlake, Louisiana. Donald loved driving and building fast cars, enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his heart was in Alaska where he loved visiting when he could. He was proud of his service in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Hawaii during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his son, Donald "Scooter" Mericle, III of Breckenridge, Texas; daughter, Jamie Len Drake (Jared, Sr.) of Lakeland, Florida; the mother of his children, Tammy Brooks of Breckenridge, Texas; sister, Sandra "Sandy" Mericle of DeQuincy; along with three grandchildren, Jared Drake, Jr, Chandler Drake, and Kayla Drake, all of Lakeland, Florida.

A Celebration of Donald's life will be held at a later date.
