Clara Allbritton Johnson

Starks - Clara M. Johnson, 92, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012, in DeQuincy.

Clara was a member of First Baptist Church of Starks where she was the Song Leader for 25 years and served as the Bible School Director for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Vinton. She served as Voting Commissioner of Starks for many years also. Even though she had no children of her own she left a loving legacy to her step-children and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Laura Loftin, her Stepfather, Harry Self and two husbands, Cecil Allbritton and Ray Johnson. She is survived by her nephews, Wade Allbritton of Manchaca, Tx, David Allbritton of Jena, La.; Stepdaughters, Veda Bussell of Starks and Vanita Gibbs of Mobile, Al.; Stepsons, David Johnson of Starks and Gary W. Johnson of Bay St.Louis, Ms.; two sister-in-laws, Joyce Corry of Starks and her family, and Bonnie Hyatt of Starks and her family.

Visitation will be on Thursday July 12 2012, from 5:00p.m.-9:00p.m.at the First Baptist Church of Starks. Her funeral will be on Friday July 13, at 10:00a.m. at the church.
