DeQuincy - Amy L. Perkins, 94, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Perkins was the oldest living member of the First United Pentecostal Church. She loved fishing, hunting and gardening, she was one of a kind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo T. Perkins, son Amos David Perkins; daughter, Bonnie Royer, brothers, Lloyd Stanley, Henry Stanley and Billy Stanley; sisters, Mamie Perkins and Gloria Jean Rose. Survivors include: sons, Carl David Perkins and Billy Glenn Perkins of DeQuincy; daughters, Virginia L. Smith, Mayona Lou McDonald, Delma Perkins, and Wanda Jean Holley, Letha VanWinkle and Iona Parker of DeQuincy; brothers; Archie Lee Stanley of Starks and Huelyn Stanley of Lunita; sisters, Nora Stanley of Lunita, Nancy Perkins of Starks, Daisy Stanley of Lunita and Nannie Humble of Starks; 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. on Sunday December 30, 2012 at The First Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Burial will be Miller Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. and resume on Sunday from 8:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. at Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel and then from 1:00p.m. until service time at the church.
