Robert “Bob” Edward Van Anne was born on October 26th, 1936 in Dalton, Nebraska and passed away on September 1st, 2017 in Chandler, Arizona under the loving care of his son and granddaughter, Brian and Annabelle along with the hospice staff at Copper Creek Inn where Bob was very much a favorite during his stay.
The middle of 13 children, Bob grew up farming with his family in Dalton, Nebraska and upon graduation from high school, he went on to join the Army and serve his country. He served two years where he drove tanks and was stationed in Germany before his discharge in 1959.
Bob enjoyed fixing things and making them work. Working for Mountain Bell and Xerox allowed him to making a living doing something he loved. He was honored that he was tasked to set up the 911 grid system in Denver during his employ with Mountain Bell, as it gave him the opportunity to help people. He also helped install the first phone lines along I-70 in the Rocky Mountains. In 2001 Bob retired from US West, formerly Mountain Bell and now Century Link, after 36 years of service.
Always the first to lend a hand to help others, Bob was dedicated to the Traditional Latin Catholic Church and to the congregation. He was often seen working around the grounds of Our Lady of Victory in Aurora, Colorado, helping those who needed a ride to services and spreading the word to everyone he spoke with. He traveled to the Holy Land and to the former Yugoslavia and to Ecuador, where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared, bringing back Holy Water and gifts to friends and family.
Bob loved to camp and take his kids on outdoor excursions, listen to music, make handcrafted rosaries, fix anything that needed fixing, spend time with his family, and was an excellent cook. He was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America and was an avid Denver Bronco and Nebraska Cornhusker football fan.
Bob leaves his son Brian, granddaughter Annabelle Ray, daughter Michelle “Shelley” Trippi, granddaughter Bradie, sisters Reenie, Terri, Joey, Amy, and his brother Danny and many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
In eternal rest, Bob joins his father John, his mother Theresa, sisters Catherine, Marge, Susie, and Mary Lou, and brothers, Jack, Richard and Jimmy.
