He was born to parents John Redfern and Elizabeth McKibbin Redfern on September 30, 1939 in Denver, Colorado. He attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic School through high school then enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country as a Radar Operator. Ralph graduated from Regis College with a bachelor’s degree in Math and Philosophy. He spent his entire career working for Western Electric (later AT&T)
Ralph was a devoted and loving father and husband. His life revolved around his wife, kids and grandkids whether it was by attending their sporting events, hiking with them in the mountains or sharing his Catholic faith with them which was very important to him. He enjoyed the symphony and theater and encouraged “Kindness and Grace”.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy McElhinny Redfern; his sister, Marilyn Rotar; his children Nathan Redfern and Rebecca Redfern; his sons-in-law Craig Nelson and Robert White and his grandchildren, Kayla, Meghan, Riley and Davin. He is predeceased by his brothers Dwayne and Robert and his eldest daughter Mary Redfern White.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor at St. Michael the Archangel in Aurora, Colorado on Friday June 18, 2021 at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ralph's name to The Limb Preservation Foundation or Regis University.
