Born on 5 Dec 1939, Paul L Martin Jr, 84, Denver, CO, passed away in his home on the afternoon of Wed Aug 7th after a long and fulfilling life. Paul grew up in Louisville, KY with his parents Paul Martin Sr. and Hattie Hunt and his four brothers and sisters. He graduated from Main High School in 1958 and then shortly afterwards enlisted in the US Air Force.
He was stationed in South Carolina and Okinawa, Japan as an air traffic controller for four years. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1962 and then moved to Denver, where he married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jean Martin on 1 January 1965.
He was very proud of his 30+ years of service with Trans World Airlines as a ticket agent and senior manager. He had an outstanding green thumb and was an amazing chef recognized by 100 Men Who Can Cook and was known far and wide for his delicious chicken wings, salsa and wine.
He is preceded in death by many cherished family members and survived by his only child Paul Martin III (“Skip”) and his wife Kerry and three grandchildren who will dearly miss him.
Funeral held at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E. Hampden Avenue, Denver, CO 80231 on August 20 at 4 pm.
A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 21st.
