Michael was born in Denver, Colorado. He spent his childhood adventuring in Aurora. Michael graduated from Eaglecrest High School and attended college courses in Downtown Denver. Michael worked at Target and then later at the family business.
Michael’s fondest memories are splashing on the beaches in California with his dearest friends.
If you knew Mike, you would agree that he had a unique sense of humor. He enjoyed entertaining others and making people laugh by cracking a joke or sharing a funny dog video. He told his nieces that his favorite vegetable was bacon.
Michael’s favorite past time was cruising down Havana Street to find something good to eat. He frequented Golden Saigon to enjoy pho and Starbucks for a venti white mocha, lite ice. If you spent five minutes with him, he would invite you to eat and always insisted on paying.
Michael was always very generous. Upon hearing a church service about tithing- Michael brought in his Coca-Cola piggy bank which was full of coins to pour into the KFC (Kash for Christ) bucket- the church offering. During Christmas and Easter, he would purchase gift cards and go to the Children’s Hospital Oncology floor and distribute these gifts to the kids as they experienced their own cancer battle.
Michael lived life to the fullest. He knew what it meant to be thankful for each day that he had. Michael showed us how to live bravely and to love BIG.
Michael was recently diagnosed with his fourth cancer. Through the end, Michael was a fierce fighter. He shared this wisdom with a friend, “My body may be sick, but I will never let my soul to be unhealthy.” His faith in God and in Jesus Christ was dynamic, despite the trials of his illnesses.
Michael chose to live with his sister during the last several months of his life. Michael was well cared for and loved by his family. He enjoyed the family’s dogs and loved watching cartoons with his nieces.
Michael was preceded into heaven by his father Michael J. Prince Senior in 2012.
Michael is survived by his mother, Yong Cha, his sister, Michelle, and brother-in-law Gilberto, and two nieces Aurora and Luna.
Consider doing a random act of kindness. That would make Mike smile.
