Mary Agnes Vigil

Mary (Romero) Vigil, age 83, passed away at home with family at her side July 6, 2020 due to Alzheimer’s. She was born January 21, 1937 in Starkville, Colorado to Juan Romero and Onofre Montoya. She married Leroy Vigil November of 1955 who preceded her in death in 2019.

Mary devoted her life to Family and the Catholic church. She introduced the Blessed Mother to her children and prayer to St. Michael the Archangel during Leroy’s time overseas. She was a Housewife and only worked outside of the home as a seamstress when her husband was deployed.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; Juan Romero and Onofre Montoya, 14 siblings; Ophelia Montoya, Rebecca Sandoval, Filbert Romero, Alice Gonzales, Eusebio Martinez, Louis Martinez, Maria Martinez, Susie Gonzales, Sarah DeHerrera, Fred Martinez, Juan Martinez, Benny Romero, Julian Romero, Josephine Baca, 3 children; Valerie Vigil, Rebecca Vigil and Kelly Vigil, and 2 grandsons; Matthew Vialpando and Elias Vigil, 1 great granddaughter; Charisma Vigil.

Mary is Survived by four children, Loreto Vigil of Thornton, Judy (Marty) Vialpando of Placitas, NM, Michael (Lauree) Vigil of Las Vegas, NV, and Monica (Danny) Martinez of Aurora. 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.
