Mary Viola Sanchez

89, of Denver, passed away September 28, 2016. Mary is survived by her 6 children, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great, great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Esequiel and Feliana Martinez; husband, Tomas Sanchez, 3 children, Donna, Lupe and Little Joe, and 3 grandsons, Rudy, Eddy and Ryan.

Mary was an incredibly loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great, great-grandmother and friend. She was incredibly creative and resourceful. Her grandchildren remember her always working with her hands, and her children remember her using her hands to craft their clothing and providing love. Mary faced a lot of adversity in her life but she always got through it with her strong personality, creativity and beautiful smile. She was an amazing teacher to her family. She taught a strong work ethic, making sure they all knew that working hard was the key to being successful. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family. She parented not only her children, but many of her grandchildren and community members. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 1pm at Olinger Hampden Mortuary in Denver. Mary will be laid to rest at Olinger Hampden Cemetery at 3pm on Tuesday, October 4th.
