Mary McMahon

Mary passed away on May 20, 2020 in Aurora, Colorado.

She was born on July 7, 1956 the fourth child of Janet (nee McMullin) and James McMahon. She quickly added her laugh, and good company, to the large numbers of cousins in the McMahon and McMullin clans and the child crowded neighborhood of 7th Street. A graduate of Saint Martin of Tours School and Bethpage High School, she went on to attend the State University of New York College at Oswego and then to graduate from the State University of New York at Buffalo. While at Oswego she formed warm and sustaining life-long friendships.

Mary built a career working in finance for numerous companies running the gamut from the New York Fashion Industry to the medical field in Boston and ending her career at Meeting One in Denver. All were lucky to benefit from her talent, work ethic, and sense of fun. Mary loved travel, good wine, live music and the company of her family and her friends. She was a terrible ping-pong player, a worse bowler and a joy to be with. Her stories were epic and hilarious. Her laugh filled the room. A world without her seems impossible.

She is survived by her sister Kathleen Spears and her husband Kurt of Bethpage, N.Y.; her sister Patricia McMahon and her husband Joseph McCarthy of Houston, Texas; her brother Robert McMahon and his wife Patricia Bailey of Roslyn Heights, N.Y.; her brother Air Force Lt. Colonel (ret.) Michael McMahon and Mary’s dear friend, his wife Marguerite of Lithia, Florida. Her nieces and nephews Marissa Spears, Brendan Spears, Joshua Spears, Conor Clarke McCarthy, Claire Guanyu McCarthy and Emily McMahon who will all dearly miss the best Aunt there was.
