Lura Lee passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018. She is preceded in death by her father Melvin C. Simmons and her mother Jean (Kreps) Simmons. She is survived by numerous friends. She grew up in Evansville, Indiana. She was two years old the first time she met her dad due to his service in the United States Army. Growing up with her father in the Army, they had been stationed in Japan and Germany. She graduated from a Colorado High School. She went on to attend Arizona State University for 3 years. She came and took a job as an editor for TV Guide. She had various other jobs but the longest was with Southwest Galleries. She did a brief stint as a security guard at the Mardi Gras Casino. She did dabble in the arts throughout her life. She had the gift of gab and was a non stop talker. She never met a stranger. After her stroke she went to live at the Bethany Nursing and Rehabilitation center in 2004. She will be dearly missed.
