Kenneth Rolland Kellogg, of Arvada, died at the age of 84 on June 17, 2014. He was born in Longmont, Colorado on June 26, 1929 to Carlton Erastus Kellogg and Anna Virginia Burke. Kenneth graduated from Longmont High School on June 3, 1948. He was married to Margaret Catherine Dozier on May 16, 1953.
Kenneth retired from General Motors in 1982 after 30 years. He then worked part time
at Sears Roebuck and Co. He and Margaret were very devote Christians and were involved in Calvary Baptist Church and then went on to plant other churches which included Aurora Hills Baptist and Smoky Hill Baptist. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18 and served in Germany in the Post WWII period during the time of the Berlin Air Lift. He served his country for 4 years. He was a member of the American Legion and loved baseball.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Carlton and Anna, his brothers Leonard, George, Ralph, his sister Dorothy, and his son Kevin Mark Kellogg. He is survived his wife Margaret Kellogg, his sister Agnes Jean Drieth, his daughter Jeanette Kellogg-Wawok, his sons Kenneth Kellogg and Keith Kellogg, and his grandsons Justin Fleming and Zachary Fleming.
Kenneth was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He was giving, thoughtful, patient and soft spoken. He always thought of others before himself. He taught his children the value of hard work, honesty, family and God and country.
One foundational memory shared by his family was every Christmas day, before the kids were allowed to open presents, Kenneth and Margaret would sit the family down and read from the Gospel of Luke the biblical account of the birth of Christ. Christ was the reason for the season.
Kenneth's funeral service will be conducted on June 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 6500 East Girard Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80224 followed by Military Honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd, Denver, Colorado 80235 at 2:00PM
