Joyce started life like so many others, she loved her Barbie dolls and all things of childhood. But early on, she felt and heard something else - there was a distant drummer. She listened to her heart and followed in that direction. It led her to a world of new possibilities. She started to discover her talents. No surprise that she didn't like the accordion her parents gave her, so she taught herself to play the guitar. She discovered her artistic side (candle holders and so much more). She developed philosophical points of view....of life. Her artistic side began to emerge and she became skilled at melding the two together. Joyce was given an old camera once, and within a few months her photographs appeared in a well know magazine.
JM had a love of beauty. As example, she loved skiing, but not downhill skiing, not so much. Joyce preferred cross country skiing, why?, because there she could take her time and enjoy the beauty of it all.
But Joyce found her passion in interior design. Early on she enjoyed a significant level of achievement with US Homes, when her designs were selected over other far more experienced designers. She started Native Brushes. She won awards. She was even recognized with a national level award.
We couldn't give justice to Joyce without recognizing her propensity to take the time to do it right. Taking time for perfection was her mantra. It could be said it was the essence of her being. But time was also her enemy. A life to short. We all could have seen so much more of what she had to offer. But those who love her know, and Joyce had so many that do.
This was written in haste. She could have done so much better, so much more to say, but too little time.
