I know we have never met but I am the daughter of Frank and Jessie Syrett of Toronto.  Since I have not heard from Joan in a little while I started googling and found she had passed.  Our condolences to you and your family from the "Syrett's" in Canada.  

I especially remember Joan coming to Toronto for my dad's 90th birthday.  We had to hide her for about a week so he would be surprised at seeing her.  I also think about the time my sister (Eileen) and I spent with Joan in Albuquereque.  Since those times we corresponded  by email and kept up to date.  She had such a great sense of humour.  Loved her dearly.
