Longtime Elgin resident and businessman, Jack Krabbe, died in Denver, CO, on February 16, 2011, after a brief illness.
He is survived by his three children; Terre Gleason (husband David), of Carlsbad, CA, Patrick Krabbe (wife April), of Aurora, CO, and David Krabbe, of Denver, CO; and his
grandson (son of Patrick and April), David P. Krabbe, of Aurora, CO.
Jack and his wife Sally were the operating partners of Morris BBQ for 38 years, from 1951 until the business closed in 1990. Sally preceded Jack in death in 1995.
Jack was a 1943 Elgin HS graduate, an avid fisherman and horse player. A child of the Great Depression, a World War 2 veteran, a quick wit, a kind soul, and a real
character . He will be greatly missed, but memories of Jack will always summon a smile.
