Hazel Dee Yongue was born January 13, 1928 in Armel, CO to Charles F. and Mattie L. Soehner and was the youngest of nine children. She attended Lansing Elementary School and Armel High School where she was valedictorian. She was baptized into Christ at the Sherman Street Church of Christ in 1945 at the age of seventeen. She attended Central Business College in Denver. She taught grade school in Lansing Valley on a war emergency certificate.
On August 8, 1947 she married William Howard Yongue from Hanceville, Alabama. They were married in Denver. Of this union were born two children Brad L. Yongue and Barbara G. Yongue.
Hazel passed away August 11, 2013 after a lengthy and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mattie, brothers Mervin, Kale, Dale, and Hilding, and also sisters Charline Yerian and Marie Banister. Her husband Bill preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by her son Brad (LuAnn) two grandchildren, Andrea Cosens and Greg (Melissa) Yongue and two great grandchildren Sierra and Ashleigh Yongue, and her daughter Barbara. She is also survived by two of her sisters Marjorie Qualls of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Wilma Lou Bryant of Placerville, California.
She enjoyed being with others and giving of her time and gifts. She cherished deeply her relationship with God and her family.
