Gordon Dewart, lovingly known as GoGo, was born on August 16, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, to Connie and Ed Padilla. He passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado, at the age of 62 following complications from cancer.
Gordon is survived by his children, Nicholas (Haaland) and Panther (Dustin); his grandchildren, Maddox, Dizzy, and Mavis; his wife, ChaunYing; and his siblings, Rebecca and Leo; nieces, Mikaela, Elicia; nephew, Moses and Tommy, Jr.; goddaughter, Kaia; and godson, Marcos; as well as many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Connie and Ed Padilla; and brothers, Edward Jr. and Tommy.
The youngest of five children, GoGo grew up in Denver and attended Lincoln High School where he met the mother of his two children. He became a father at 18 when his son, Nicholas, was born in 1981. A year later, in October 1982, he welcomed his daughter, Panther.
One of his happiest periods was in the early ’90s when he bought his first new car—a white Dodge Shadow. Resourceful and hardworking, he was the kind of man who could fix his own car with nothing more than a Chilton manual and determination.
Every weekend, he took Nick and Panther to a self-service car wash where they washed, dried, and vacuumed the car together, instilling in them the value of hard work and taking pride in their belongings. That car became more than just transportation; it was a symbol of their adventures, carrying them on summer road trips to California to visit family, see the sights, and of course, spend time at Six Flags.
In 2020, GoGo met Ying, the woman he would quickly fell in love with. A year later, they were married.
GoGo worked as a bus driver for RTD and had many passions, including photography, concerts, billiards, and his home team the Denver Broncos. The streets of Boulder will be a little quieter without the roar of his motorcycle.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 10AM at All Saints Catholic Church in Denver. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Parish Hall at All Saints. Those who wish to memorialize GoGo and do something ahead of time are encouraged to do so by donating to any cancer research foundation.
