Geraldine "Jerry" Shipman was born Geraldine Claire Wascovich to George and Bertha Wascovich in Central City, Pennsylvania on September 15th. Jerry passed away in Denver on September 18th, she was 91 years old.
Jerry lead an exciting life full of dedication and love. She graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1947, and enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a nurse anesthetist. She was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. While she was in the Air Force she met a pilot by the name of Richard Shipman, and they were married in 1952.
Jerry will be remembered by her husband, Richard who she was married to for 65 years; her children and grandchildren. She will also be remembered by anyone who's life she touched.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 25th at 11am at Olinger Hampden Mortuary in Denver. Jerry will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery, later.
