Frank H. Moore was born and raised in Denver, went to North High School, and graduated from the University of Denver where he met his wife, Jean Crotchett. After graduation, Frank enlisted in the Navy during WWII and was sent to southern California for training in Meteorology at Cal Tech. During that time he took additional classes and received his Masters in Physics. Frank and Jean got married and Frank was sent overseas to the Philippines. After the war, Frank was an FBI agent for seven years before working for Sanford Ink Company in Illinois, becoming the International Sales Manager, until retirement.
Throughout his life, Frank’s passions were his family, tennis and fishing. Frank was a devoted family man, living his life by example. He loved to tell stories and had a wonderful sense of humor. Frank was a self-taught tennis player who held many championship titles in Colorado and Illinois, playing against world-renowned players. In 2002, Frank was inducted into the University of Denver Athletic Hall of Fame for his tennis and basketball talents. An avid fisherman, Frank could be found fly-fishing on many of Colorado’s streams and later, fishing on Dillon Reservoir or Lake Michigan where Frank was a Charter Boat Captain. He was one of the founders of Salmon Unlimited in Illinois and twice received their Master Angler Award. He started Colorado Trollers when he moved back to Colorado.
At age 92, Frank passed peacefully in his Denver home, surrounded by love in the presence of his wife of 69 years and their three daughters. He is also survived by his sons-in-law, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
