Frank Cason Evans was born in Des Moines, Iowa on January 16, 1920 to William Cason Evans and Jennie Coleman Evans. He was the baby in their family and he always reminded us saying, "and I'm the baby."
He received his education in the public schools system in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from East High School. He was drafted into the army during World War II, and served his country from 1943 to 1946. after his stint in the miliary, he attended and graduated from the Barber College of Iowa and barbering was his occupation for many years, along with carpentry with his younger brother, Harold.
After moving to Denver, Colorado, he worked for Denver Housing as a pipe fitter and maintenance tech for a number of years until he retired in 1986. After retirement he enjoyed doing Genereal Contracting with his son Frank, Jr.
Frank accepted Jesus as his personal Savior in Januray 1996 at All Nations C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Bishop P. H. Porter, and has kept his commitment to the Lord ever since.
From a former marriage Frank became the father of 4 children. He married Mable Inez Mayes in 1962 and 2 children were born from this union. On December 7, 2011, Frank stepped from time into eternity, in a very peaceful way. All praises to God for that peace.
A reunion awaits him with his parents William C. and Jennie L., his brothers Harold Evans and Elmer Evans. His sisters Everdell Evans McGregor, and Roberta Roman Frazier, his son Phillip Mayes, his grandson Casson Evans-Hurd (Biscuit), all preceded him in death.
Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his children, DuWayne Evans (Eva) of Woodbridge Virginia, Fayette Dove of Orange County Virginia, Janice Evans of Manassas, Virginia, Reverend Maurice Evans (First Lady Barbara Evans) of Madison County, Virginia, Frank Evans Jr., Sharletta C. Evans, Marlon Mayes and Lynne Porter (Stephen) all of Aurora, Colorado, Galen Mayes and Bernard Mayes of Des Moines, Iowa, and William Mayes, Jr. of Glendale, Arizona, 33 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and many nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
