Survived by the love of his life, wife Aurelia, and light of his life daughter, Micayla; parents Richard and Diane Fling (Denver), brother Steven Fling (Holly); Nephews Jared Fling (Aurora) and Tyler Moffat (Aurora); Niece Gabriella Fling (Aurora); Grandmother Rita Fling (Frederick); Numerous Aunts and Uncles and Cousins, Mother-in-law Grace Pacheco (Denver); Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law and children.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather Gene Fling and maternal grandparents, James and Shari Benedict, Uncle Mike Fling and Aunt Cheri Fling.
A graduate of George Washington High School in Denver, class of 1993, Eric continued to follow the athletics and sported the colors of the green and white Patriots.
Throughout his youth he earned his Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
Eric participated in youth groups through Salem United Church of Christ and The Kirk of Bonnie Brae.
He achieved his Undergraduate and Masters degrees in Business Administration/Management and Marketing/Public Relations at the University of Denver. He continued to follow the DU Pioneers athletics and enjoyed many, many friendships made through his attendance as a student and as he continued to be part of DU events and organizations.
Eric married his high school sweetheart and made a beautiful home and family with Aurelia and his beloved daughter, Micayla in Denver.
While he said he ‘bled green and white’ he donned the purple and white for South High School to support the athletic endeavors and academic achievements of his beautiful daughter, Micayla.
Over his career he made his mark in various companies, from United Artists, United Airlines, PepsiCo, Vitamin Water, Coca-Cola, Activate, Purity Organic, BulletProof Coffee and Body Armor.
“Hi, I’m Eric” was a constant introduction as he greeted strangers who then became lifelong friends, spanning the years and the globe.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at First Plymouth Church located at 3501 S. Colorado Blvd., Englewood, CO 80113.
Masks are required for the service.
