Freda “Carolyn” Lamme Reida, 93, of Centennial, Colorado passed away on November 18, 2022. She was born in Cuivre Township, Missouri on January 07, 1929 to Ernest Ellis and Frances Van Duzer Lamme and had five siblings. One brother Art Lamme and four sisters Charlene Teague, Margaret Christensen, Mary Cox and Martha “Marti” Lewis. Carolyn graduated from Vandalia High School in Vandalia Missouri.
Carolyn married the love of her life, Richard C. “Dick” Reida on April 25, 1953 in Omaha, NE. Together they were blessed with six children, David Reida (wife Karen), Paul Reida, Daniel Reida (wife Cathi), Diane Young, Timothy Reida and Mark Reida.
Carolyn was employed at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, NE until February 1954. She worked in the Life Premium Department. Carolyn & Dick moved to Colorado Springs in December of 1985 for Dick’s job with Prison Fellowship and they worked side by side as they trained church volunteers to go into the prisons for weekend seminars or to lead weekly bible studies.
In 1991 Carolyn & Dick became adjunct staff members of Stephen Ministries of St. Louis, MO. They traveled with that group for 7 years supporting training conferences held across the country.
Carolyn and Dick both retired from Stephen Ministries in 1997 and Dick was led to plan, recruit and train volunteers for short term mission trips. They traveled together and served with multiple teams in 7 European Countries and Dick traveled separately with mission teams twice to Honduras. They sold their home in Colorado Springs in July of 2006 and moved to Aurora, CO. They found a warm welcome at Faith Church and have been very much blessed in this fellowship. Dick passed to be with the Lord on March 22, 2018. In May 2019 Carolyn moved to live with her son David and his wife Karen in Centennial, CO.
Survivors include her children and her grandchildren Kara, Jennifer, Lindsey, Brandy, Rachel, Autumn, Matthew and great-grandchildren Lydia, Bishop and Henry. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Art, sister Charlene and her beloved husband Dick.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Faith Presbyterian Church at 11373 E. Alameda Ave., Aurora, CO 80012.
