She was raised in Grapeland through high school and then attended East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, TX. She met Robert “Ted” Cowan in San Antonio, Texas and they married February 15, 1956. She was a member of PEO Chapter CN, the Aurora Legal Secretaries Association, Opti-Mrs and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and scrapbooking. She created many wonderful quilts and scrapbooks that her family will always treasure. She especially loved spending time with her family and taking many trips with her husband. She lived vicariously through her grandchildren as her health deteriorated and in the last few years she delighted in spending time with her great grandchild Landon.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Tina (Jay) Wagner, Stevens Point, WI, grandchildren Danny (Nikki), Wade, Alex, and Kylie, one great grandchild, Landon, and a brother Darrell in Lufkin, TX and her Aunt Loyetta of TX. She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Teri.
