Alvin F. Dinkel, 93 years old and a long time resident of Victoria, Kansas, passed away on February 17, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Denver, CO. He was the son of Wendelin and Pauline (Dreiling) Dinkel. He is survived by seven sons, Darrell (Cindy) , Allen (Gloria), Ronald, Ruben (Jackie), Jeff, Rich (Kerri), Patrick (Diann). And daughter D Bates (Ron). Alvin has 22 Grandchildren, and 29 Great Grandchildren.
Alvin was preceded in death by wife Ruby (Dreiling) Dinkel, sons Donald and Terry (Karla) Dinkel, one daughter in law, one grandchild, one great grandchild, his parents, Sister Irene Beran, and Brother Wilmer Dinkel.
As a young man, he served time in the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC’s), and then served in the Army during WWII. He was a life long member of the VFW Organization. Alvin was a long time employee of the Hays Planning Mill, and operated the Victoria Planning Mill for several years prior to retirement.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Spirit Of Christ Catholic Community, 7400 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 11:00 am, followed by Mass at 11:30 am MST. Additional services, to include Mass and burial will be at St. Fidelis Cathedral and Cemetery in Victoria, KS at a later date.
