Memorial services will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Kemp Baptist Church in Kemp, Oklahoma.
After high school, “TG” served his country as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force from November 1958 to July 1962. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force he met and married Wanda Winnett on June 3, 1963 in Durant, OK where they began their family. Being a machinist by trade, he went to work at Johns-Mansville in Denison, TX and later owned Johnston Machine Works in Beaumont, TX, then went on to own WT’s Video in Vidor, TX and several other businesses throughout his lifetime.
"TG" is survived by his wife of 55 years of marriage, Wanda (Winnett) Johnston of Pottsboro, TX; daughter Dixie Johnston Chalupa & husband Stephen Neil Chalupa of Cypress, TX; granddaughter Logan Marie Chalupa of Cypress, TX; sister Loretta Pat Johnston of Roswell, NM; and brother John Joseph Johnston & wife Estella Johnston of Dickinson, TX.
"TG" was preceded in death by; father Cecil Johnston and mother Dixie (Truscott) Johnston; brother and sister-in-law Ralph & Mary Jo Johnston; brother and sister-in-law Lucian & Ruth Hamner; sister and brother-in-law Sara Lea & R.C. Schwarting.
