Teddy Norman Blankenship Sr., age 84, of Denison, Texas passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2018. Teddy was born Monday December 4, 1933 in Denison, TX to Minnie Mae (Smith) Blankenship and Oscar Glenn Blankenship.
Teddy served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. After the military he began his career with Pillsbury in the maintenance department where he retired some 30+ years later. He loved the outdoors and the farm life and especially his cattle. Teddy loved farming with his John Deere Tractor and spent hours on it. He was mechanically minded and could fix anything that had an engine. After retirement, he continued his farm lifestyle but with the love of his children and grandchildren around and worked part time throwing newspapers for the Herald Democrat for approximately 5 years. Teddy loved his family dearly and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Teddy is survived by; son Teddy Blankenship Jr. & wife Tina; daughter Deb Jacobs & husband Jim; son Alan Blankenship & wife Tammy; and daughter-in-law Karry Blankenship; granddaughter Melissa Tally & husband Barry, grandson Keith Cates & wife Jennifer, grandson Richard Cates & wife Tracy, grandson James Jacobs & wife Tara, grandson Nathan Blankenship & fiance' Lindsey, grandson Joshua Jacobs & wife Teresa, granddaughter Alicia Blankenship, granddaughter Tammy Jacobs, and granddaughter Brandi Jacobs.
Teddy also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren; Oscar Tally, Hodge Tally, Davis Tally, Malachi Jacobs, Hannah Jacobs, Samson Jacobs, Preston Jacobs, Bailey Cates, Katie Cates, Parker Cates, Cloe Cates, Kayla Cates, Kelton Cates, Karsyn Cates, Paisley Conrad & husband Rian and of course Smokey, his poodle that went everywhere with him.
Teddy was preceded in death by his Parents; wife Grace Joan Blankenship; son Roy Lynn Blankenship; and granddaughter Kendra Blankenship.
A Memorial service for Teddy will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel in Denison, TX with Father Randall Fogle of St. Michael & All Angels Church.
