Mr. Hesse was born on April 13, 1930 in Muenster, TX to the late Joe and Christina Hesse. Raymond married Evelyn Haverkamp on August 16, 1958. They had 52 wonderful years of marriage before he went to be with the Lord.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a quiet and very kind person with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sherman, Texas. Raymond worked for Johns Manville for 28 years until they dissolved the company.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hesse and children, daughter and son-in-law Donna and Ray Petree of Sadler; son and significant other Darrell Hesse and Ellen Thomas of Denison, son and daughter-in-law Loyd and Becky Hesse of Alexandria, Louisiana; grandchildren Jennifer Pritchard, Teressa Robinson, Megan Hesse and Ryan Hesse; great-grandchildren Emily Hesse and Brecken Robinson. He is also survived by sister-in-law Ethel Hesse of Muenster; sister, Sr. Roberta Hesse of Ft. Worth; sister Chris Sanders of Garland; sister and brother-in-law Caroline and Harry Neu of Sherman; brother and sister-in-law Bernard and Aggie Hesse of Muenster; sister and brother-in-law Jane and Jim Myrick of Lindsay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leo Hesse, brother Robert Hesse, sister Mary Ann Hesse and brother-in-law Sandy Sanders.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Myrick, Dale Neu, Neil Hesse, Alan Zimmerer, Bob Luttmer and Jim Haverkamp.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Hilltop Haven staff and the Hospice nurses and staff who took such loving care of Raymond.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Bratcher Funeral Home. The wake service will be said at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a. m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 727 S. Travis, Sherman, TX 75090.
