Phyllis was born on August 20, 1937 in Parsons, KS to Mary Ione Sykes Fulton and G. E. “Steamboat” Fulton. She attended Denison schools graduating from Denison High School in 1956.
On June 6, 1954 Phyllis married the love of her life, William Dean Pyles, They spent 64 wonderful years together.
Phyllis’ family was her most valued treasure and she spent all of her years loving, caring for and nurturing her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
Phyllis worked many years for Levi Strauss and the Denison schools where she served many meals to children she loved. She grew up at East Baptist Church in Denison and most recently was a very active member at Calvary Baptist Church. She loved all her church families and most importantly loves her Lord, Jesus Christ. She could often be found cleaning her church building, sitting with children in the nursery, and serving on various committees. Phyllis, much like Jesus, was a servant who always put others first.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her brother, Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Fulton of Pensacola, FL and her granddaughter Samantha Mary Rose Snider of Howe, TX.
Phyllis is survived by her husband William Dean Pyles of Denison, TX; her sister, Virginia “Jin” Wernli, and husband Roy of Cedar Park, TX; her children, Robin Lynn and David Snider of Howe, TX and Clayton Dean and Susie Pyles of Denison, TX. She has 5 grandchildren, Andrea Snider Matamoros and husband Steve of Garland, TX; April Snider Mueller and husband Britton of Ardmore, OK; Gregory Paul Snider of Howe, TX; Tyler Dean Pyles and girlfriend Summer of McKinney, TX; and Brittany Diane Pyles Hargrove and husband Devin of Sherman, TX. She has four great-grandchildren, Easton Lane Hargrove, of Sherman, TX; Mateo Matamoros of Garland, TX; Chloe Mueller and Nolyn O’Neill of Ardmore, OK; and another great-grandson on the way. She also leaves many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Phyllis will be greatly missed by family and many friends.
Family night will be Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard, Denison, TX. Services will be Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 300 W. Acheson, Denison, TX.
