Lela Marie Mosley was born on November 2, 1924 and went to be with her Lord on May 17, 2015. She was born in Platter, Oklahoma, where she was delivered in birth by her Grandpa who was the local physician.
Lela’s parents moved the family to Denison, Texas via horse drawn wagon. She resided in Denison most of her life. After graduating from Denison High School, Lela worked at Kress’s and Newberry’s as a cashier, also at Barrett’s and Wacker’s, when she met Melvin Mosley. Melvin and Lela married September 24, 1942. They were married 62 years and had four children. She lived her life serving others and caring for her family.
Lela was preceded in death by her husband Melvin (Buck) Mosley; her parents Charlie and Nellie Raines; son Tommy Mosley; sister Betty Nix; brother Franklin Raines and son-in-law Bill Stahley.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Kay Stahley; sons Jim Mosley and wife Donna, Chuck Mosley and wife Debbie; sisters Texanna Koiner, Linda Troublefield and husband Ron, Texoma and husband Frankie Heathcock; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, May 20th from 6-7 pm at Bratcher. Services will be held at Fairview Cemetery Chapel in Denison on Thursday, May 21st at 2 pm. There will be no graveside services.
Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Jimmy Mosley, Clay Mosley, William Mosley, Jason Mosley and great-grandsons Cody Stahley, T. S. Stahley, Ryan Stahley and Dillan Stahley.
