George Dennis Carlton

Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Bratcher Funeral Home.

Service will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Waples United Memorial Methodist Church with Dr. Roy Spore officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cassell, Larry Townsend, Don Donaldson, Larry Ballew, Eddie Carlton, and Kevin Carlton.

George was born in Durant, Oklahoma to Charles and Annabelle Carlton on December 17, 1944. He married Francis Ann Hodges on January 7, 1983. He graduated Durant High School in 1963. He was owner/operator of several service stations, and also worked for the Katy Railroad and Lattimore Materials. He served in the National Guard, was a member of the Eagles and American Legion. He attended Waples Memorial United Methodist Church. His hobbies included golf, watching OU Football and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Francis “Frannie”, daughters Kamie Carlton, Pam Nunley; son Russell Allen Hanes; grandchildren Ethan Long, Travis Hanes, Russell Hanes Jr., and Lindsey Hanes, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Tomas Carlton, Jerry Carlton, sisters Winona Morris, Janie Carlton and Charles Ann Neasbitt.
